When you create a website on associationedge.com you can choose from many templates, some of which allow you to add your own custom banner at the top! Also you can control what pages appear and what they're called. All pages fall into two types, 1) a functional page 2) a standard content page. See below for explanations and features!
Functional Page Types that you can activate.... all of these can be renamed by you to something more appropriate!
Photo Gallery Post pictures from fundraising or member events. Keep everyone motivated!
Blog Record your thoughts, musing and stories from the stump. Another great way to keep everyone informed and energized. You also have the ability to make it appear as a "roll" on the home page of your site. Server automatically "pings" 14 different weblog ping servers (Including weblogs.com and technorati.com) whenever you add new topics!
Calendar Add and/or View your events daily, monthly or yearly. Remind yourself of appointments, deadlines or parties coming up. You also have the ability to set up eRSVPs, similar to evite.com!
Press Releases Keep your constituents up-to-date with what's happening.
eStore Sell buttons, bumper stickers and more. Allows you to set up store categories and products. Integrates with PayPal (and Verisign too!). This is a premium feature, see pricing for details.
Contact Us Displays your contact info and if you've filled in your address, will also display a link to mapquest!
Contribute/Donate With just a minimum amount of setup time, you can integrate your site with your PayPal account so that you can accept contributions or membership dues online! You can have multiple contribution levels. Also comes with a fundraising thermometer!
Standard Content pages Create your customized pages and change the names and content for each of them! You are allowed to add up to 4 of these. These combined with the variety of functional pages (listed above under functional page types) should cover your needs. You can also add unlimited "subpages" or links to any of these pages.
Custom Forms You can create custom forms on the fly-- great for volunteer sign ups! You decide what fields to show and create new ones unique to your situation. You also decide what fields are required. These can be added to either the Contact Us page or any Standard Content Page or subpage.
Extra Page Goodies that you can activate! These appear in a sidebar column on each page of your site.
Log In You can have a login/register form on your site so that users can view content specific to groups they belong to, etc. You have control over what they can do on your site.
News Flash You can post quick snippets of news for your visitors. You also have the option of making this appear as a "roll" on your home page and allowing logged in users to add their own news!
Join Mailing List This is an email box and "go" button that will allow your visitors to enter their email and join your list of "users". You can then organize them into groups and/or send out email blasts to them!
Send to A Friend This will display a button that a visitor can click on from any page and be able to enter in friends email addresses and send them a link to that page.
Sidebar Content Basically this is just a blank area where you can insert any type of content you want. Great for adding useful links, or your regular public meeting dates, or you can even use it to upload sponsor web ads or code for an affiliate program you might have with Barnes & Noble or Amazon.
Discussion You can set up public and private discussions and allow logged in users to add their own topics and comment on other topics.
Email Blasts Send or receive emails about events or happenings within your organization. Each email is sent as both HTML-rich and Text-only. The HTML version matches the look and feel of your site!
Group/User/Password Manager Easily add groups and users. Then you can tailor content, invites and emails for specific groups. Unlike most sites that issue one password which you must share with everyone, you can select which pages can be viewed by which group, and each person has their own unique username and password!
Templates You can choose from over a dozen designs, most of which have at least 3 color choices. Don't like what you picked when you first started? No problem, you can easily change it without affecting your content!
Parent/Child Organizations Do you have several chapters that would like to have their own website, but you'd like to share the calendar? No problem! Any "child" organizations set up shares the calendar with the parent and any other "child" organization, plus the parent organization also has access to the "child" organizations' user database. |
